Friky
Friky is a small application that turns a computer into a kiosk that allows people to download music and software to their USB key. It is designed to promote the use of music and software distributed under free licenses, and to show that music and software can be legally downloaded, if the author has given the right to do so. It can for example be used during free software promotion events, but can also be used in libraries or other public areas.
Friky 1
Friky 1 is the first version of Friky. It allows to choose music or software in pre-defined categories, and to download them to the USB key. Friky 1 has a nice design, supports internationalization and the different categories can easily be customized. It is ready for production, but doesn't allow the user to preview or to select precisely the music tracks, and is limited in the number of categories.
The free software user group Toulibre already successfully used it during various events.

Friky 2
Friky 2 is a new version of Friky, in development. It allows to navigate through music albums and tracks, to view the cover of each album, to listen to the full tracks, to select independant tracks or albums and to download them to the USB key. It is much more feature-full than Friky 1, as it allows the visitor to listen and to select its music and software conveniently.
However, it is still in development. Most of the features needed to listen and download the music are present, but the interface has not yet been reworked by an artist. Moreover, it cannot yet distribute free software.
